GSI Delivers Rooftop Solar Solution at Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi

Green Sources Investment (GSI) has successfully completed a rooftop solar photovoltaic installation at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi — marking a significant milestone in the UAE's drive toward sustainable infrastructure across its world-class entertainment and sporting venues.

The Yas Marina rooftop solar project involved the design, supply, and installation of a high-density photovoltaic system across the circuit's expansive facility rooftops. GSI served as the full EPC contractor, managing every phase from structural assessment and system design through procurement, installation, commissioning, and grid connection.

The installation required careful coordination with the circuit's operational schedule to ensure zero disruption to ongoing events and facility activities. GSI's engineering team developed a bespoke mounting solution compatible with the existing roof structure, ensuring structural integrity while maximising panel density and energy yield.

The completed system significantly reduces the circuit's reliance on grid electricity, cutting carbon emissions and contributing to Abu Dhabi's Vision 2030 sustainability targets. The project demonstrates that even high-profile, operationally complex venues can integrate renewable energy without compromising performance or aesthetics.

GSI's project team conducted a detailed shading analysis and energy yield assessment prior to design finalisation, ensuring the system delivers optimal performance year-round given Abu Dhabi's solar irradiance profile. The team also implemented a remote monitoring platform, giving the client real-time visibility into generation data, system health, and CO₂ savings.
